Will Loving, President
Dedication Technologies, Inc.
Will Loving has a rich and diverse background in both education and technology. Working as a consultant and software developer
since 1989, Will has had a strong interest in science and mathematics
since he was a child. Will's background and experience enable him
to observe and grasp his clients' needs and then imagine
and implement technological solutions that elegantly and powerfully
improve their organizations. Will has been using FileMaker database
products since 1988.
A graduate of the Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA
with a BA in Education Philosophy (1982), Will has taught classes on
a
wide range of topics in both academic and non-academic settings.
These include: a Quaker
high school; Baker
River School, an experimental boarding school; a school for
boys with learning disabilities; Hurricane Island Outward Bound;
adult career
planning; swing, waltz and contra dance; and, computer training.
Will has been contra-dancing for
over 3 decades, has been calling dances since 2008 and is the founder and organizer of the Downtown Amherst Contradance Series, the Greenfield Challenging Contras series at the Guiding Star Grange, and the Hooked On Swing Society of Western Massachusetts. He loves photography and photographing dancers and has taken 1 or 2 decent dance photos.
Over the years, Will has provided pro bono consulting assistance
to a number of organizations (see list)
and is most recently working with the World
Computer Exchange (WCE) to enable technology and internet access
to schools and NGOs in developing nations. For several years he was WCE's Programme
Officer for Zambia, assisting and coordinating with New
Vision for Africa, Rescue
Mission Zambia, and Youth
Spearhead to bring thousands of donated computers to Zambia
(see slide
show). He lives in Denver, Colorado.
In 2006, 6 containers of Macintosh computers (2400+), donated by the Montgomery Country, Maryland school district, were delivered to the NGO New Vision for Africa in Lusaka, Zambia. Computers were distributed to schools and NGOs with funding help from UNICEF and others. NVFA director Rev. Abednego Mambwe pictured above.
